Do Your Research
One nice thing about Black Friday and Cyber Monday is that in the internet age, they’ve somewhat begun to bleed together. No longer is it strictly necessary to get up at the crack of dawn to get the deal.
Now sometimes Black Friday sales begin a week or more before Thanksgiving!
Still, regardless of the length of time Black Friday technology deals are available, you should still ensure the deal is right for you. So do your research and come up with a plan.

So you know you want to save money, but what else do you know? Before you jump into the shopping frenzy, follow AesirTech’s Step-by-Step Black Friday Technology Deals Gameplan, helpfully abbreviated as ATSbSBFTDG or “‘AT’S BS BareFoot DoG!” (we’re still working on the acronym).
1 - Identify Your Need
Don’t buy anything just for the sake of buying something. It’s easy to get distracted by the shiny new deals, so start by figuring out what you really need, then maybe start thinking about other things you might want.
Is it time for a new computer? Want to replace that old TV? Whatever it is, start there.
2 - Pick the Best Product
Whether you have brand loyalty or have some must-have features, figure out what specific product will best meet that need. Alternatively, come up with a list of the “musts” and find what meets them.
3 - Research the Deal
Find out where you can get the best deal. Does it have to be in person? Is it only at a specific time?
And which of those answers are most important to you and your shopping plan?

Have Fun, (If It’s Fun) but Know What You’re Getting Into
How you view Black Friday, like so many other things in life, has a lot to do with your personal experience. For some, getting up early to stand in line with a bunch of grumpy shoppers is the closest thing to The Bad Place this side of Earth.
For others, it’s a family tradition full of fun and anticipation.
If you’re in the latter group, you don’t have as much to worry about, because the event is the point. But if you’re in the former one, don’t cut out of Thanksgiving early so you can get up at 1 am for a “door buster” that will run out quickly.
Many of the biggest deals that big box sellers advertise are very limited. They know it will get people there, and once there, they won’t leave empty handed.
Unless you’re a pro or extremely lucky, chances are you won’t make it in time to get that ridiculously cheap Smart TV! So don’t sign up if the experience isn’t also for you, or at least manage your expectations.
